The notorious pigeon trapper arrested in Tompkins Square Park has just been hit with additional charges, and the latest twist is disturbing.
Just as 67-year-old Dwayne Daley was about to be released following his April 30th arrest for illegally capturing pigeons in NYC, police arrested him again, this time for a 2021 assault incident. He allegedly knocked out two teeth of a person who confronted him about trapping birds in Williamsburg.
Authorities also discovered 25 pigeons confined in small cages inside his van registered in Pennsylvania. These birds were likely being transported across state lines for cruel shooting contests.
Daley has a history: he was previously arrested in 2007 for the same offense.
This recent arrest was made possible because every day New Yorkers saw something suspicious and took action. If you witness similar activity:
