Eight million people, 355 wildlife species, and only a handful of wildlife rehabilitators to serve them all.

Did you know that caring for each wild baby animal from admission until release costs over $200? Costs for housing, energy, medical care, and more has sky-rocketed, and the price of formula and other necessities has almost doubled. We receive no funding from city, state, or federal agencies. Our work is made possible by tax-deductible donations from kindhearted people like you! No gift is too small — every dollar saves animal lives!
With so many wild patients to care for, we are in constant need of supplies. We are always grateful for donations of a wide variety of items that we can put to good use. From fleece fabric, paper towels, and newspaper to medical and pet supplies, including specialized items such as formula. You name it, we need it! Please contact us for our updated wishlist.
If you love wildlife and have a tiny bit of free time, we can put you to work! Every hand is needed. Do you have a car, like to cook, enjoy arts and crafts, or like to teach? We can use any skill or talent you might have.
Just contact us, and we will be happy to tell you all about our current volunteer opportunities.
If you want to be hands-on with wildlife rescue, volunteer with our Rescue Team! Learn how to assess wildlife-related issues on-site, how to conduct a successful rescue or reunion, how to safely handle animals, and how to provide emergency care until the patient can be transferred to a wildlife rehabilitator or facility. Reach out to schedule a time to speak and we will fill you in.
Have you ever wondered if wildlife rehabilitation might be right for you? We will teach you what you need to know to become a wildlife rehabilitator — including animal care, patient stabilization, husbandry, nutrition, and medical issues — and prepare you for the NYS licensing exam. Once you have your license, we will help you create the right setup for your wildlife patients and mentor you all the way.
Do you have a soft spot in your heart for wildlife plus skills in social media, email marketing, undraising, photography, graphic designor, website development, and/or volunteer management? If so, we need you! Let's have a conversation about ways you can use your talents for the good of ALL New Yorkers! Email us and tell us how you would like to participate and let's talk.
